!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE WEEKENDS !!!!!!!!!!

The college life is over it seems. We have just had a partial peek into the professional life lying ahead for us. The disciplined 8 – 6 life enervates you as the sun sets. Truly speaking from my perspective as of now everything seems gloomy and dark (darker than coal).
There could not have been better start for the week from my perspective (ONLY MY). Though even i boycott such malpractices that disturbs our economy so much. The BHARAT bandh meant no class for the first half of the day. The notorious mind would not have left us so easily. Some mysterious OCTO FUSS Paul is always after us. We wouldn’t be left behind with a paid working day without attending lectures. They arranged for a series of lecture in our hostel itself after the lunch break. (OOOoops this is 2 much). It was truly funny to watch some serious mates who were wearing safety shoes also for attending the lecture delivered at their footstep. (LOL- for attending safety & env classes).
The next day was even worse but there was some respite as it was at SNTI. As I had my lovely sleeping space at the last row. The classes were of 1 hour each of COC- code of conduct followed by a series of lecture on first aid & vigilance department case studies. As if we were toddlers who are just ignorant of such practices and values in professional life. The only lecture on steel manufacturing process was the best we had till now during the first 2 days. Thereof we had our guided works visit of LD shop, COKE PLANT, B.Furnace.
We were inundated with weeklong printed schedule thereafter. The lectures from all senior managers & V.P. The training classes begun from thursday. Every class mocks us with the message:
“MISMATCH ERROR – w.r.t engg specialization & current employment industry”
Every lecture begins with a note: “How many of you are METALLURGIST here”?
I didn’t knew that metallurgy was so boring. During our college we thought that METALLURGY was all about that KALA KITAB (v.j.singh). hahhaha.
The week long classes were all concerned with briefing us with iron, coal (!#@#%^^$#*%$^@ - SEEMED Absurd barring a few lectures) the sole necessity of the steel industry. The lectures were delivered by the masters of the subject with loads of experience in respective fields. Unlike college classes the scenario here was a bit different. We were all neophytic dumb ass hole listening to some serious discussion. Some left us with no idea of what we witnessed i.e. heard or seen about during that confined duration.
One of the innumerable bone of contention in the system that needed some discussion among the infifnite reforms. The new proposed identification medium of RFID.  I was happy as it sounded something high-tech for the first time. I reacted: WOW now that is some exciting stuff of prestige for being an engineer. Though didn’t heard or knew the full form of it. All that excitement vanished in a phew when I typed RFID on the Google. Disgusting we were to be traced of our every coordinates with the radio frequency I card. It was truly unethical for an organisation which scheduled a 2 hour lecture on ethics. Even the Indian players rejected such WADA clause earlier this year.
However finally I could summarise this week as a bit interesting. Since we had some more wee hour at our behest. We were again back with Pandeyji who gave us a jalebi treat. Few stuff like dinner with MD are lined up for the week ahead. Surely, the training provided by SNTI is gradually turning a bit interesting with a mix of requisite fun and work.
The fortunate 1.5 day weekend brought a light smile to me.
(Hope the same for the others GUYS (with whom i have only a slight interaction) n GALS (0000000).

CORPORATE WORLDs - Honour Killing

DAY 1 -- ON THE JOB

Yet another case of HONOR KILLING though would not find an inch on PRINT OR SCREEN MEDIA. Usually H.Killing is associated with some family controversy and feeble mindset of illiterate class of people. However this time hordes of to be professional were being tortured and mentally killed by some literates people of the global organisation. It was beyond imagination that the start of the new life would be so long, irritating and annoying on the very first day. The incident deserves more than the nationwide hue and cry over the condemnation of such atrocities being practised in workplace.
The day started off as per schedule for some event at SNTI. However our bus driver had different plan for us it seemed. He took us to XLRI which was unfortunately the wrong destination as per his instructions. He was instructed to take us to SNTI. The result was our running behind of schedule by about 20 minutes. On arriving we received our starters kit with loads of stationery items, a novel and ....... This was again preceded by a live MD ONLINE program being aired live on the screen. The program was a live interaction program of all the national and international divisions of the GLOBAL king in steel making. This engrossed us to a gentle slumber for about 75% of the AV. Further we proceeded for filling of the joining formalities. Though it was something more than more lengthy than formalities. It took us more than an hour filling own and family details umpteen number of times. Some questions were raised like
Why on earth was the carbon paper invented?
Does the persons self and family details changes from one form to other.
Filling every form twice was excruciating and worsened the situation. Finally the whole procedure left us with only 1 hour for lunch as we again had to report at SNTI for post lunch (FORM) session.
The same underwhelming story being repeated again barring a new form being handed over to us again. This was the worst of  all forms. As it asked for brief description of interests, qualities of a good mentor and other blah blah..... This was done to know us better and provide us a mentor most appropriate to us. Don’t know how could one judge anyone with these details which was motivated from the person next to him or her for maximum number of poor spirits like me out there. A person like me whose sole interest, hobby, quality is to sleep.  Further after light refreshment again there was nothing to do except for filling those bloody bank account forms. In the mean time few of our mates were inside the auditorium enjoying the ac. They took their own time to come and fill those bank forms. We were ready to go back abiding by the schedule and on time. However only few of us seemed interested in going back as no one was there on the bus. After waiting period of about 30 minutes few others came and the bus moved towards destination leaving the girls and few others behind in the SNTI.

Truly the whole process on the very first day Su%#$%$. Everyone of us were lethargic and lackadaisical after the long, boring and annoying day. This was the whole story of first day. Hope there could be some remedy for getting away from those irritating forms in days to come. So that the future batches could be relieved of such situations on the very first day of one of the most event full day of their career.

Its beyond expectation that such perfidious act could be practised by the organisation or this is what the corporate world is all about?
