***** ROCKSTAR ******

It was a nice drive to the outskirts of the city in Nilav’s car. Hari as usual kept up to his commitment (as for him Kmitment is kmitment) reaching the theatre first even after directly coming from plant. While others came from home with time ranging from minutes to hours spent with vanity box (possible reason for late coming). It was a large group and mismanagement was not beyond exception with the “quality people” coming in with distinguishing characteristics. The people to reach theatre earliest were managing the group. And were the last to enter the theatre after approx 30 minutes (Kudos to those “noble characters”). After losing out almost 20 minutes of the movie even I was inside. Still our fully booked row bored an empty look. The mayhem didn’t ended there as the usual latecomer SH was without ticket and was deprived of entering inside. The problem finally got sorted after 40 minutes as all settled down gazing at the screen. We were the only fools it seemed who were with tickets from starting but without brains. There was no stark difference as an unusual behavior is expected when girls are the part of fleet. So that was nothing unusual as stark difference among few “noble characters” is easily recognizable whenever group has someone from opposite sex. (Subject of study for psychologist)

Now coming to the movie:

It’s more of a musical platform with a painful love story. The brilliant voice of Mohit Chauhan in congruence with the “true musical rockstar” of our country aka A.R.Rehman makes the story take a backseat. The eclectic soothing music with touch of hard rock and Sufism keeps the audience engaged (only +ve about the movie).
The magical DOCOMO poster boy shares onscreen with a newbie. American-born who made her first appearance in Kingfisher calendars. (Now the Kingfisher is counting its days on the calendar.) Jokes apart it was wonderful that such mesmerizing beauty was found earlier. (“As introduction of such calendar might be difficult for the KF in future”.) They enjoy a good explosive chemistry between them. Ranbir Kapoor (JJ from Jonardhan to Jordan) captures onscreen with wild and cute looks every moment. He has got style and is turning out to be a good actor too.
The concept of promoting tourism was carried forward by the show of picturesque scenes and culture of our Kashmir and Chez Republic. However the lackluster story with flaws on relating to real life is easily recognizable. Abrupt stoppage at intermission and at end adds to the disappointment. This was truly not justified after such hype and hoopla which it promised while canvassing from last few months.
…........................................................................

N.B: The plot might not be in total sync with actual story as it was not able to stop me from sleeping in between.

The first half is a universal version of DELHI belly with small slangs in common use and electrifying romantic moments. A talented college lad (R Kapoor or JJ) as usual gets lost of his passion owing to a girl (Heer). The college canteen owner makes him understand the necessity of suffering and pain for being successfull.
Devoid of the 2 ingredients of success he tries to get involved with Heer. JJ like an idiot chases Heer following her words. Though she was to get married after 2 months but wanted to spend her quality time fulfilling her wild fantasies doing all kind of taboo activities. Like moving in street theatres to watch B grade film JJawani, drinking country liquor, and playing small pranks while people were peeing….
Then the plot moves to KASMIR for her marriage. As usual in hindi movies, the time spent brings them close to each other. They again carry on with their last snippets of fun and frolic activities in Kashmir. (With a tribute paid to Shammi Ji with the beautiful song.) The love was kindled but no effect as JJ returns back home and Heer moves to Prague.

After returning back the JJ good for nothing is forcefully made to look after a family business. Though wrongly accused of stealing is made to move out of from home. With a passion kindled for meeting his love he retorts back to his passion of music in S Nizammudin mosque. Coming back to real life after almost 2 months, his talent for music gets recognised by a shahnai player(Ustad Bismillah Khan portrayed by Late Shammi kapoor)who advices the music company to bet on him.

Yeh bada jaanwar hai. Yeh chhote pinjre mein nahi samayega

The bet pays of and now the music company moves to Prague (Czec Republic) for concerts. JJ gathers the opportunity to move to Prague without second thoughts. Thus making a comeback in Heer’s life who seemed to be psychologically down in foreign country. After some hesitancy, she continues with him a step ahead engaging in all nonsensical stuffs once again. The street romance continues between them but with some hesitancy from Heer.
Recognizing that she had been doing wrong she tries distant herself. This adds to her sufferings and is the reason for her poor mental and physical health. While JJ reverts to drinking, showing signs of frustration and anguish owing to separation.  Although his musical talent was now widely recognized and turned him to superstar. Her physical condition deteriorates and is again restored while JJ comes back to his life from India on Heer's sister (Mandy) request. On seeing her surprising recovery the onscreen couple moves back to India. While JJ clashes with media in anguish of associating him with Heer who was already married.
She moves back to Prague again stating she was married. In separation her condition worsens in Prague as she goes into coma and is also found pregnant because of JJ. The musical plot ends with beautiful song from the maestro Rahman and M Chauhan. The movie ended showcasing Jordan on stage performing with Heer “Nadaan Parindey” which was his illusion.

Moral of the story: If it’s really the necessity of pain and sufferings that makes one famous then everyone has got enough inspiration from the 3 hour spent to be successfull.
